Divorce Law in Virginia
Virginia divorce law provides married couples the right to file no-fault and fault complaints for divorce. No-fault divorce is appropriate when a marriage has broken down with no chance of reconciliation. A no-fault divorce can be obtained after a period of separation, regardless of fault. Fault divorce is found when domestic violence, adultery, and other misconduct is present. If domestic violence is a concern, we will obtain protective orders and no-contact orders for abused victims.
